Stigmatisation of people with intellectual disabilities
In an inclusive society, people with and without intellectual disabilities live and work side by side. However, members of the public and healthcare professionals may hold stereotypical and prejudiced attitudes towards people with intellectual disabilities, which may restrict their inclusion and participation in society. The aim of this PhD research was to find out what those stereotypical and prejudiced attitudes are and how we can reduce the existing stigma against individuals with intellectual disabilities.
