eHealth, or digital healthcare, is the use of information and communication technology to help people feel healthier, happier, and less stressed. Examples of eHealth include apps, video calls, and online videos and platforms. eHealth is progressively becoming an important part of care for people with intellectual disabilities, but we still have more to learn about the sustainable implementation of healthcare technology. What are the added values of eHealth? How can we make use of eHealth to further enhance quality care and professional support? How can we make eHealth easier and simpler to use? How can we successfully implement digital applications in the care and support for people with intellectual disabilities to help improve their self-determination or quality of life? This theme aims to address these questions.
