Impact of ‘Beat the kick’ on motivation and reducing addictive behaviours among people with mild intellectual disabilities

This doctoral research project studies how effective the training course ‘Beat the Kick’ is in terms of encouraging behavioural change. Researchers also looked at ways to avoid falling back into old habits. The training course ‘Beat the Kick’ focuses on motivating people who have a mild intellectual disability and have addiction problems. For this doctoral research project, a randomised controlled trial (RCT) will be conducted on 120 subjects to measure effectiveness. The aim is to analyse the impact of the training course on participant motivation and reduction of addictive behaviours.
