Experiences of people with mild intellectual disabilities with the Social Support Act (Wmo)

For people with mild intellectual disabilities, the Dutch Social Support Act (Wmo) is not always easy to understand or navigate. This study examines the specific aspects of Wmo support that make a difference in enhancing the independence and social participation of people with mild intellectual disabilities. The study is expected to identify the key elements of effective Wmo support and provide insight into the diverse experiences of people with mild intellectual disabilities. Based on its findings, the study will offer targeted recommendations to help local authorities, care providers and advocacy organizations refine their policies and service delivery, improve the quality of life of people with mild intellectual disabilities and increase the efficiency of public spending.
