Video: Building connections in the care of people with intellectual disabilities

The network of people with intellectual disabilities plays a vital role in their lives, but also in the care and support they receive. In this video, informal network members (a mother, sister, and volunteer) describe the role they can and want to play in caring for their loved ones with intellectual disabilities. Researchers from the AWVB (Netherlands Institute for Mental Health and Addiction Care) and a healthcare worker explain why it’s important to build connections in the care of people with intellectual disabilities and how to do so.
