Experiences of mothers of children with intellectual disabilities at the start of the covid-19 pandemic

The coronavirus outbreak greatly affected families of children with intellectual disabilities. The AWVB interviewed six mothers to understand their experiences.

The research identified four themes: fear of infection, finding new routines, dependence on others’ decisions, and coping with restrictions. The findings are presented in this factsheet.
