Collaboration between formal and informal care

Creating a meaningful life for people with intellectual disabilities requires collaboration between individuals, their informal networks (family, volunteers, and neighbors), and care professionals.

Case Studies_1B_ENG_website

In cooperation with the VGN, the AWVB identified six examples of successful collaboration and analyzed the factors that make them effective. Commissioned by the Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport (VWS), this study was part of the project Better Use of Experiential Expertise (in Dutch: ‘Beter benutten ervaringsdeskundigheid’). The main results are summarized in this factsheet.
